Write it out with Kyndall through our online Writing Center!

Online Writing Tutoring is still available! Sign up today!

Hello Retrievers,

I hope we're all still doing well and staying safe! The Academic Success Center is still working hard to bring you all of the resources you need to be successful this semester, such as the Writing Center.

To better support you (while still social distancing) the Writing Center has moved completely online. It's hard to stay connected during this time, but maybe Getting to Know one of our Writing Center tutors will help!

Meet Kyndall!

Tell us about yourself!

I’m an English major, I’m a sophomore, and I’m a writing tutor—we do it all!

Tell us what else you do on campus

I am a TA for science of water, I am a writing fellow for English 100, VP of ChewMBC, and VP of Spanish conversation!

Why did you get involved with the Academic Success Center?

I’m really into education and I wanted to explore how it is to actually teach people—it was an opportunity that I couldn’t let pass by. (can’t block your blessings)

Why do you love your job?

I’m a very shy person, so having this job allows me to come in contact with a lot of people who I usually would not meet. It allows me to come out of my shell. My tutees help me learn as much as I help them learn.

Ideal pizza and why?

Supreme pizza with no olives because olives are disgusting and I like every other topping on there. Really, all I need is a mushroom pizza, but if it doesn’t have mushrooms, I’ll eat it, but do I want it?

Wise words, Kyndall. Wise words. Now if YOU want writing help, booking an appointment is easy!

1.       Go to umbc.go-redrock.com and log in.
2.       Under “search availability,” choose "Writing Center" to see the schedule.
3.       Pick the Writing Center appointment that works for your schedule.
4.       Finalize the appointment and check your email for confirmation.
5.       Your tutor will email you 5-10 minutes before the session with instructions.

That's all it takes! So be sure to take advantage of your resources and take care of your papers and yourself!
